Take a look at the Netherlands’ perilous past in the Amsterdam Dungeon, the city’s most popular horror playhouse. The interactive shows put you in the seat with no escape but to hear, feel and smell the torturous past of the Dutch rule.
You will witness stimulated acts like The Torture Chamber where you will stand eye-to-eye with the sadistic martyr and Witch Burning; where you will anxiously laugh when the witch is tied to the stake and burned alive. The Dungeon hosts 12 shows with 10 skilled actors, packed in 80 minutes that transport you to a time under the gruesome rule of the Dutch East India Company. Each tour will move in a group of 30 members. So, there is no chance of you feeling lonely throughout the tour. As the duration of the tour is approximately 80 minutes, you might want to prioritize the shows that you want to see.

To guarantee your entry during peak visit times such as weekends, bank holidays, and summer holidays, it is recommended to book your tickets in advance. There may be a slight delay in the entry during peak hours.

The Amsterdam Dungeon is open every day. You need to arrive at the venue before the show-time mentioned in your booking confirmation. For late arrivals the entry is not always guaranteed immediately. You can walk in the next tour as new tour starts every 15 minutes. Sun-Thur: 11 AM to 6 PM ( last admission is at 6 PM ) Fri-Sat: 11 AM to 7 PM ( last admission is at 7 PM )

Children below the age of 5 enter for free. Child tickets (5-15 years) are available at a reduced price of €15.5. Please select the right profile type for your group during checkout.

The Amsterdam Dungeon is located on Rokin in Amsterdam, a 5-minute walk from Rokin subway station or 15 minutes from the Central station. There are also several nearby parking facilities.
There is no specific dress code as such but comfortable shoes are recommended for your visit as it involves walking.
Wheelchair and rollator users are always very welcome at Amsterdam Dungeon. However, strict fire regulations dictate that we can only admit two wheelchair users at any one time. We would therefore strongly recommend you book your visit in advance.

Amsterdam Dungeon is not suitable for battery operated electric wheelchairs or scooter.
Pregnant guests and guests with back or neck trouble will have to notify the staff at the entrance of the Amsterdam Dungeon. Their staff will inform you if there is anything that you need to be aware of.
The Dungeon is not recommended for people who are diagnosed with claustrophobia.
Guests who are hearing impaired are welcome to bring a carer for free who can help make the most of your Dungeon tour.
People who are visually impaired might find it difficult to navigate the Dungeon. For health and safety guidelines, guide dogs are not allowed at the Amsterdam Dungeon.
Heavy luggage are not allowed at the Dungeon. You can store your luggage at the Hoppa Storage Home which is 2 minutes walk away from the Dungeon.
