Dubai Safari will open its doors to the public only after this summer and will house about 3,500 animals in its first phase
The much-awaited Dh1 billion project will be completed by April, Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality told Gulf News. However, he said, the facility will start receiving visitors only after a grand inauguration by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, after the summer.

Headlined by the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, the Dubai Art Season this year will showcase the city’s artistic talent in synchrony with UAE’s 2016 “Year of Reading”. The Dubai Water Canal, which has been in the making since October 2013, officially opens on Wednesday. The opening of the canal opens up new possibilities in marine transport, connecting the historic areas of Deira and Bur Dubai through the extended waterway of Dubai Creek, Business Bay and Dubai Water Canal.
